Editorial & data policy

Our entire value is being right about regulatory details. Here's how we try to be, and what we do when we're not.

Where our data comes from

Every license profile is compiled from the official state licensing board for that trade. We link to the source on each page and stamp it with the date the figures were compiled (most recently across the site: May 2026). As boards announce rule changes or new code-edition adoptions, we update the affected pages.

What "compiled" means — and its limits

The date on each page is when its figures were compiled from the board source. We are actively working through source-verifying each figure board-by-board, but not every number on the site has yet been independently re-checked, and a single page may summarize many fields from one or more board documents. So whenever a number matters to a real decision, follow the source link and confirm it against the board yourself. We'd rather you trust the board than trust us blindly.

How we decide what to list

  • Providers. Continuing-education providers shown on a state page are those that offer courses for that trade and state. We flag one editor's pick — the provider with the largest course catalog for your state — and list the rest sorted by name. Affiliate status never changes which providers appear or the order. Listing a provider is not confirmation that the state board has approved it; check the board's approved-provider list before you buy.
  • Bonds & insurance. We point to established surety and insurance providers. These are affiliate links; see our disclosure.
  • No pay-for-placement. Nobody can pay to rank higher, be featured, or have unfavorable facts removed.

Corrections

Found an out-of-date or wrong figure? Please tell us — it helps every visitor after you. Email hello@tradecerthub.com with the page and the corrected value (a board link helps). We aim to review correction reports quickly and update the page and its verified date when we confirm the change.

AI and human review

We use tooling to help compile and format data at scale. We are source-verifying figures against the official boards on an ongoing basis; where a figure hasn't yet been individually confirmed, the linked board is authoritative. Tools are for speed; the source of truth is always the board.

Independence

Trade Cert Hub is reader-first. We make money when our information helps you find the right course or bond — not by distorting what we report. If those two ever conflict, accuracy wins.
